FINANCIAL ADVISER – Finance Strategy Team

Highly competitive salary c. £29,500 - £32,500 p.a. (pro-rata for part time) plus excellent pension and performance bonus

The Financial Services team is looking to appoint a School’s Financial Adviser to join their growing Finance Strategy Team. Our team plays a key role in delivering financial consultancy services to schools and academies in Hertfordshire.

We are looking for someone who is committed to developing an expert knowledge on the financial management of schools and academies.  The post holder will take a leading role in the development and delivery of services to schools and academies including training, financial recovery services, financial modelling and other specialist projects. In addition to this, the post holder will be asked to deliver regular accountancy services to a portfolio of schools and academies.

If you possess strong technical accounting skills and experience and would be confident in delivering accounting and financial management advice to schools/ academies with the minimum of supervision, we are keen to meet you. Financial accounting and bookkeeping experience is essential as is the ability to apply financial regulations and policies.

The post holder will be asked to maintain and continue to develop expert knowledge of  the financial accounting  and  financial planning systems supported by our team. The role will also require the ability to travel to schools across the county.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Full time, 37 hours per week
Based in Stevenage.  £22,665 p.a. with excellent benefits

We are currently looking for a Graphic Designer with a flair for creativity and the ability to translate business communications into ‘must-read’ documents for our customers, to join our busy marketing team in Stevenage. 

The Graphic Designer is the brand champion for the company and will play an integral part in developing creative concepts, graphics, layouts and illustrations for printed materials and the company websites.  They will be responsible for mentoring and ensuring the ongoing development of a Graphic Design intern as well as managing the design process for projects from concept through production/print to delivery.  They will work across a range of marketing, training and corporate materials (on and offline).  Materials will include brochures, leaflets, posters, flyers, reports, adverts, newspapers and corporate literature, and will require close liaison with third party suppliers, including printers. 

The desired candidate will have a minimum two years’ experience of working in a graphic design role for a commercial organisation, be educated to degree level (ideally in graphic design) and will be passionate about design and marketing.  They need to be highly creative, with an exceptional eye for detail and be experienced in desk top publishing and using publishing/graphic design packages including InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Live Cycle and Acrobat Pro, as well as software packages such as Microsoft Office. They need to be confident communicators with an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work and demonstrate a genuine desire to learn.

We are currently looking for a Graphic Designer Intern with a flair for creativity and the ability to translate business communications into ‘must-read’ documents for our customers, to join our busy marketing team in Stevenage. 

As part of a nine month internship, the Graphic Designer will play an integral part in developing creative concepts, graphics, layouts and illustrations for printed materials and websites and work collaboratively with the company’s existing Graphic Designers to ensure that all design work is delivered on time and in line with Herts for Learning’s brand style and guidelines. Following the appointment of Paul Wilson as Education Services Director (Secondary), there is a vacancy for the Deputy Education Services Director (Secondary). This post holder will play a key part in the overall strategic leadership of the secondary team.
