Cathy IronsCathy has worked in various departments within Hertfordshire County Council ranging from Adult & Family Learning to Herts Property. She joined governance as a Governance Officer in 2008 and her primary role was overseeing the clerking service. In September 2016, Cathy was appointed as Governance Officer – Operational Lead and her roles include overseeing training, recruitment and communication for governors.

Cathy is a school governor of a community school and an academy as well as a clerk to the governing body at a number of schools in Hertfordshire.

Cathy is a nationally accredited Safer Recruitment trainer, has gained a BTEC qualification in education and children’s service development, and assists with the delivery and assessment of Hertfordshire Clerks’ Accreditation for clerks to governing bodies.
