Claire has 10 years’ experience in primary school business administration with accountability for finance, human resources, procurement, premises, health and safety and ICT.  For the last 4 years she worked as an Academy School Business Manager and is the Academies Lead within the School Business Management Services team.  Since joining Herts for Learning in April 2016, she has completed a number of school business management reviews and supported Headteachers through demonstrating the impact of a school business manager within their schools.

Claire has been involved in the set-up of two free schools, one of which was part of a multi academy trust.  She set up the financial practices, procedures and policies, advised the MAT on financial management and procured the range of contracts needed to support the schools. Claire is keen to ensure best practice financial and human resource management to enable excellent teaching and learning opportunities for staff and children.

Previously Claire worked for KPMG, training as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and then joined Local and Central Government Consulting, specialising in efficiency, financial management and business process reviews. As a school business manager, Claire has completed the Level 4 and 5 Diplomas in School Business Management, Certificate in Financial Reporting for Academies, PRINCE2 project management qualification and a Level 5 Diploma in Employment Law.
