Paul WilsonA science specialist, with over 20 years’ experience of teaching in secondary schools, Paul has worked as both a subject and pastoral leader. Before becoming an adviser he was a member of a senior leadership team in a secondary school, a role which included leading on all aspects of assessment and contributing to school self-evaluation in terms of pupil outcomes and teaching and learning.

Paul joined the advisory service in Hertfordshire in 2009 and now works as a School Effectiveness Adviser supporting a number of schools. He has taken part in many whole school reviews both in and out of county and has worked with and supported schools in challenging circumstances.

Paul has a particular interest in assessment and leadership and management. He has supported schools with their interpretation and presentation of assessment data and use of analyses such as RAISEonline, FFT and the Ofsted Inspection Dashboard.

Paul has an MA in educational leadership and management and is an accredited executive coach (ILM level 5). Through his work with schools and membership of both CIEA and AAIA, Paul has an up-to -date knowledge of current issues in assessment and education in general.  Paul holds PQSI, and has experience of inspection in secondary, primary and middle schools.
