Tony Hankin

Tony joined the Herts for Learning (HfL) School Business Management Services team as a consultant in September 2014. He has 11 years’ experience as a school business manager at a large secondary school where he is director of finance and resources and clerk to the governing body. The school is an academy trust and Tony is also the company secretary.

Since joining his school in 2004, Tony has established sound financial management processes, overseen the funding, planning and construction of new facilities and managed the conversion to academy status. He works with all staff to promote effective and efficient use of resources and assets to support teaching and learning. Prior to joining the school, Tony worked in the finance and banking industry.

Tony holds the CSBM and DSBM, and has used his knowledge and experience to support new business managers and those studying for their own SBM qualifications. He enjoys meeting and working with other school business leaders to share and spread good practice, and continue to develop his own knowledge and experience.
