Behaviour for Learning

Herts for Learning’s experienced Behaviour for Learning advisers offer creative, practical and effective approaches to behaviour management and can offer bespoke training, CPD, guidance and support to school leaders, teachers, NQTs, teaching assistants, midday supervisors and parents/carers.

Behaviour for Learning support includes:

Secondary

  • Coaching for better behaviour (KS3)
    Supporting the development of consistent, proactive and positive behaviour management, this one‑day service is aimed at teaching staff wanting to fast‑track behaviour improvement within their class/lessons.

Primary

  • Even better behaviour audit
    A full day review to support SLT and behaviour leads to self-evaluate against Ofsted behaviour judgements and develop an action plan with behaviour strengths, areas for development and suggested next steps.
  • Coaching for better behaviour
    Supporting the development of consistent, proactive and positive behaviour management, this one‑day service is aimed at teaching staff wanting to fast-track behaviour improvement within their class/lessons.
  • Play Nicely
    The Play Nicely consultancy model captures existing good practice and identifies specific areas for development. These are shared with and addressed by midday supervisors duringthe day and subsequently collated into a bespoke playground behaviour policy.
  • Give me a break
    Encouraging support staff and midday supervisors to see themselves as behaviour leaders, this half day service refreshes and enhances the behaviour management skills of staff to promote a consistent, proactive
  • Getting beyond behaviour management: moving from behaviour management to behaviour for learning
    A uniquely designed assessment tool for capturing behaviour for learning skills, habits and attitudes, the service is aimed at all school or academy staff and class teachers and works with them through a programme of consultancy and training to create a whole school behaviour for learning baseline, targets and action plans. The programme looks to maintain high standards of pupil behaviour and self-discipline, whilst creating confident, independent learners with excellent attitudes to learning.
  • Behaviour for learning workshops for parents and carers
    Supporting a genuine home-school partnership approach by sharing more of what schools know about teaching and learning, these two hour workshops help parents to develop a deeper understanding of the impact they can have on their child’s learning.
