eSafety advisers provide high‑quality, up‑to-date and bespoke training, consultancy and guidance for schools and academies on eSafety, to support them with their crucial role of safeguarding.
They specialise in school and academy eSafety reviews, incident response and Ofsted advice. They can deliver whole‑staff, teacher and teaching assistant training, parent/carer briefings, and training for residential social workers and foster carers. They can also advise schools and academies on preparing for inspections of eSafety. Also available are eSafety surgeries – one-to-one consultancy sessions – to discuss any eSafety concerns schools or academies may have around staff, governors, pupils, parents, policy and best practice.
eSafety support includes:
- Staff eSafety training – anti-cyberbullying
Sessions for teachers discussing cyberbullying; the issues for staff and children; their responsibilities; how to manage incidents; and the resources available for schools and academies.
- Parent eSafety training – anti-cyberbullying
A session to help parents to understand the risks of online activity for their children. The session raises awareness of eSafety and cyberbullying and identifies the impact of incidents on children, their families and the school community. Coverage includes recent trends in schools and acadmies within Hertfordshire and how to avoid problems associated with online activity.
- Pupil eSafety assemblies
Assemblies have been developed to help pupils consider how they access the online world; understand age‑appropriate information; and ways to stay safe online. They also highlight how to minimise the risks and stay safe.
Full or half day eSafety workshops for pupils can also be arranged for all Key Stages.
