Advisers are flexible, creative and innovative in responding to the priorities and needs of schools. They work with all members of the school community, including governing bodies, support staff, pupils and parents. Development of bespoke training and workshops is a key strength.

PSHCE support includes:

Flourishing mindfully in schools

This unique programme, delivered directly to school staff, combines the principles of mindfulness, positive psychology, action for happiness. It uses as guidelines the findings outlined in Martin Seligman’s book, Flourishing, whilst encouraging teachers to use “growth mindsets” as a whole‑school approach, based on the work of Carol Dweck. The programme aims to demystify a large body of psychological research, by providing a practical course that not only helps to benefit teachers’ emotional health and wellbeing but offers realistic teaching ideas to trial within the school. The benefits of mindfulness are well documented but this course aims to combine approaches to provide a hugely beneficial whole‑school approach.

The programme runs for two hours per week over a four-week period.

PSHCE/SMSC – inspection‑ready health check

This unique consultancy enables schools to prepare effectively for the “Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare” element of the new inspection framework. Evidence from lesson and assembly observations is thoroughly analysed, along with the school’s PSHCE scheme of work, all the relevant policies, procedures, subject paperwork, display boards and whole‑school approaches to SMSC. Strengths are identified and recorded, areas for improvement identified and suggestions offered, with an action plan created to support progress.

This thorough consultancy session runs for three hours, working with the PSHCE subject leader and their SLT line manager.
