Catherine joined Herts for Learning in June 2019, having previously worked for Hertfordshire County Council and been one of two directors appointed by HCC to sit on the HfL Board. Catherine has a professional background rooted in project and programme management which spans both the public and private sector.
Chris is an experienced Head of Technology, having spent 25 years working in both the public and private sectors where he has enjoyed delivering Wifi for the Olympics and helping to launch BT Mobile without a hitch. He is highly experienced in the digital transformation of technology services, and believes in providing schools with affordable access to the best technology to both accelerate learning and to improve their operational efficiency.
Head of Business Management Services/Interim Head of Financial Services
Jane has worked as a school business manager for 17 years for schools in both the primary and secondary sectors. She has experience of both maintained school and academy operation. She has been a member of the senior leadership team in all her schools and is currently a governor for a Catholic Primary school. Since joining HfL Jane has gained accreditation as a School Resource Management Advisor for the DfE which means she works with academy trusts across the South East of England, and brings back that experience and expertise to Hertfordshire schools. She is a member of the Institute of School Business Leadership. Prior to working in Education Jane worked for 16 years in sales and marketing roles within the IT and business consultancy industries.
Cathy's background working in education has spanned 18 years. She joined Governance Services 10 years ago and was appointed Head of Governance Services in 2017. Her experience spans across various education sectors, all with a focus of providing children and young people with a good education and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. She has completed a Level 6 BTEC Education and Children’s Service Development course. She is a serving governor in Hertfordshire and an accredited Safer Recruitment trainer. The work and commitment through a dedicated team to support governors to fulfil their role is at the heart of her day-to-day work.
Prior to joining the Data Management Services team as an MIS Consultant in 2011, Jennie was a Data Manager in a Hertfordshire secondary school for eight years. This, alongside her previous commercial experience with BT, provides a blend of skills for her role as Head of Data Management Services at HfL, combining product knowledge with strategy, an understanding of the education environment and a passion for excellent customer service. She believes that the aim of technology in schools should always be to make life easier for staff at all levels, providing the information needed to allow the focus to be on the development and growth of the students and creating an efficient and effective environment for them and the staff that care for them to thrive in.
Dave is an experienced HR leader, having spent 27 years working in the commercial sector where he developed expertise across a wide range of HR areas. Having spent over 10 years in operational management roles, he has a depth understanding of the pressures leaders and managers face on a day-to-day basis. He has extensive experience leading HR teams and working closely with diverse stakeholders; leading through structural changes, redundancies, TUPE, resourcing and talent development, reward, engagement, employee relations, mediation and dispute resolution. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and hold a certificate from the Institute of Leadership & Management.
