    This year’s conference will be delivered face-to-face once again and will provide national and regional updates of key interest to Heads of Languages. As usual, we will welcome speakers from exam boards for the latest updates and information on exams, languages advisers and education experts.. 

    Our speakers for the 2022 conference will include:

    • Sheena Newland, Subject Advisor, Pearson Edexcel Modern Languages 
    • Maud Waret, French, Spanish and History teacher at City of London Academy school, COLA at City of London Academies Trust, Radio Chat Hostess at Teachers Talk radio for the Sunday afternoon show University of London
    • Yvonne Kennedy, Teaching and Learning Adviser - Languages, Herts for Learning
    • Robert Woore, Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics and lead tutor for the Modern Languages PGCE course, University of Oxford

    This full-day event has been planned to keep delegates engaged and motivated from start to finish and provide them with: 

    • updates on the latest issues surrounding the teaching of languages in secondary schools
    • an understanding of the updates on national, regional and local landscape for secondary languages 
    • an opportunity to network and share innovative ideas, good practice and gain practical steps to improve the teaching of secondary languages 

    This conference is open to all but would be particularly suitable for all Heads of Department, Deputy Heads of Department and aspiring Heads of Department in Secondary, Middle and All-through schools.
