Recent days have seen children return to schools and settings across the country under unprecedented circumstances. As school leaders, you will be facing challenges on a daily basis and more than ever your time is at a premium. I will therefore keep my email shorter than is usually the case at this time of year.
The most important message I wish to convey is a simple one: Herts for Learning (HfL) is here to support you through these difficult times. As you know, we are owned by Hertfordshire schools and by HCC, and we work with you and over 3,100 schools and settings nationally with one over-riding objective: to help you secure the best possible long-term outcome for children.
Please be assured that HfL will continue to offer its established programme of education and business support, and that we will continue to review and adapt our services to meet your needs as circumstances change. Recognising the constraints under which schools and settings are operating, we will continue to deliver as much as we can remotely, whilst ensuring that face-to-face support is available whenever you would prefer it and it is most appropriate.
HfL has responded to the challenges of COVID-19 by moving almost our entire training programme to online delivery. Following successful pilots in the summer term, we are able to offer unmatched training opportunities with the flexibility that accompanies remote learning. We have also invested significant time in developing resources and training programmes to help your staff adapt their teaching and learning to minimise the impact of the last 6 months, resulting in the launch of the “Back on Track” programme of support for primaries and the secondary equivalent “Leading after Lockdown: Next Steps”. Full details of both programmes and more information on our full range of products and services are available through our website hertsforlearning.co.uk.
On behalf of all my colleagues at Herts for Learning, I send our very best wishes for the term ahead and reiterate our support during these challenging times.
