Following the success of this year’s competition, bookings are now open for schools to enter a team of four Year 5 pupils in the 2020 Herts for Learning (HfL) Year 5 Mathematics Challenge.
The challenge gives Year 5 pupils the opportunity to test their mathematics and teamwork skills in a friendly competition.
The challenge comprises four rounds involving team problem solving, reasoning, estimation, visualisation, memory and arithmetic. To enable pupils to practice and prepare for the challenge, all teams entering will be sent the previous years’ competition materials and resources.
12 regional heats will be taking place in January and February for up to 220 school teams in venues around Hertfordshire from 4:00pm-5.30pm.
Winners from the individual heats and eight best runners up will go forward to the grand final, to be held in Stevenage on Friday 20th March.
Schools can enter one team at a cost of £30. To enter your Year 5 class team into this year’s Herts for Learning Year 5 mathematics challenge, please book via the CPD Hub onto one of the regional heats or contact us for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
