Herts for Learning (HfL) has just been announced as a finalist in the 2018 Nursery World Awards.
Following the judging of the Nursery World Awards 2018 HfL has been voted onto the shortlist in the ‘Staff Resources’ category with its Making the Difference Early Years Toolkit -supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable children.
The Nursery World Staff Resource Award is open to early years resources and equipment that help practitioners to improve their practice and provision.
HfL’s unique toolkit centralises key information and research and provides a ‘one-stop shop’ for leaders and practitioners seeking tools to support planning, evaluation and guidance on the effective use of the funding, in order to close the gap between disadvantaged and vulnerable children and their peers.
HfL was a winner in the same category in last year’s Nursery World Awards, with another of its Early Years resources: Places to Play Every Day for 3 to 5 year olds.
The HfL Early Years team were delighted to have been among the four finalists shortlisted for the award.
Speaking about the announcement, Mireille MacRaild, Education Services Director - Early Years at HfL, said:
“We are delighted that our commitment to raising early achievement in schools, academies and other educational settings throughout Hertfordshire and beyond has once again been recognised.
“Since launching in October 2017, over 150 settings, schools and Children’s Centres have purchased the Making the Difference Toolkit and are actively using it to improve outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable children.”
HfL’s Early Years team offers an array of advisory and consultancy services, training and conferences as well as resources.
