Herts for Learning is delighted to announce that two of its resources have been selected as finalists in the 2019 Teach Early Years Awards.
Supersonic phonics has been shortlisted in the communication, language and literacy category, for ‘resources designed to promote the development of talk and language skills, early writing and/or reading skills’. Supersonic phonics cards promote a range of activities to structure active phonic sessions. The cards are based on elements of the ‘letters and sounds’ phased developmental approach to teaching phonics.
Essential foundations for counting has been shortlisted in the early exploration category, for ‘maths and science resources, and all resources designed to help children broaden their understanding of the world’. HfL’s primary maths and EYFS experts created the set of booklets to support the development of children’s foundations for counting. Each booklet focuses on a key skill: pattern, classification, comparison, group recognition or subitising.
The next stage of the awards will see the finalists assessed by a panel of early years experts and their verdicts will be unveiled in Teach Early Years magazine in October.
