Herts for Learning (HfL) has once again been awarded the Continuing Professional Development Standard from the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM).
The purpose of the CPD Standard is to help teachers of mathematics at all levels, and their institutions, to access information about the wide range of CPD provision on offer (not simply courses) and to be assured of its appropriateness and quality. To support this, the NCETM has developed a clear set of principles and Quality Mark criteria which define the CPD Standard.
The benefit to those arranging mathematics CPD from Standard Holders is that they can have confidence in the providers they choose; the benefit for CPD providers is that their provision is more likely to be chosen, as potential customers know its quality is assured. Full details of the CPD standard can be found on the NCTEM website.
David Cook, HfL’s Lead Primary Teaching and Learning Adviser for mathematics, said: “The maths teams are delighted that the NCETM has reaccredited HfL as high-quality providers of professional development. This is a reflection of the excellent training and support we provide and the very positive impact we have upon enhancing the quality of mathematics teaching and pupils’ learning.”
HfL’s primary and secondary teams have a wide variety of mathematics professional development available to schools, whether it be to develop leadership, enhance teaching or secure learning.
