Exemplification of standards in mathematics
These exemplification materials have been designed to support teachers and leaders in making accurate assessment judgements.
There are two case studies that exemplify end of year age-related standards for years 1, 3, 4 and 5. Each case study contains annotated samples of pupil's learning and teacher commentary that demonstrate working mathematically in both: Number; Measurement, Geometry and Statistics. Next steps in learning are also identified for each pupil. At the end of each document is a summary of the teacher's overall judgement and highlighted criteria.
The materials can be used for standardisation and moderation exercises in schools
