Handwriting progression and toolkit: KS1 & KS2
This handwriting toolkit could be used both by class teachers wanting to address handwriting in their classes, or by subject leaders with a whole school focus. It sets out the progression in skills from Y1 to Y6, allowing teachers to identify what children should be learning and practising and enabling them to track back to previous year groups, including EYFS, if there are gaps that need to be filled.
There are also assessment grids to identify areas of need, suggestions for practical activities, and links to further websites for additional ideas.
