The writing skills strand tracker
This resource tracks each writing skill mentioned in the National Curriculum and plots the development of learning through the year groups.
It is a planning resource that can support teachers with planning and differentiation as it shows how children not quite at ARE can be introduced to a skill and how the skill could be modified to provide challenge for more able within the same learning objective.
The resource could be used to support classes with mixed year groups and could therefore be used in conjunction with the Long Term Planning Overview for mixed age classes.
As the key notes, where the language is not directly taken from the National Curriculum, a different font has been used.
