Disadvantaged and vulnerable
All our Education Services advisers work closely with school and academy leaders to support a strategic approach on reducing the attainment gap for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
We can guide and support schools on strategies designed to reduce the gap for disadvantaged pupils. Contact our Education Services teams to explore how they can help your school to focus strongly and effectively on this priority. Some relevant services, intiatives and courses are provided here.
A range of pupils may be deemed vulnerable, including children looked after, young carers, and children that have Protected Characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
Our SEND advisers can provide support around meeting the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Our Wellbeing advisers support schools on all aspects of the remaining Protected Characteristics and other vulnerabilities. They can also offer support around wellbeing strategies including for:
- Children Looked After
- ethnicity/ EAL
- young carers
- pupils with high mobility
- Anti bullying and anti prejudice (racism, homophobia, bi phobia and transphobia)
We also run training courses and annual conferences on supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils.
