Focused English Plan – Year 6 – Night of the Gargoyles story writing unit
This focused English plan will support teachers in Year 6 to deliver an interesting and engaging superhero story unit based on the delightful contemporary text ‘Night of the Gargoyles’ by Eve Bunting. Covering a range of spoken language, reading and writing (grammar, vocabulary and punctuation) skills, this plan demonstrates how these aspects of learning can be delivered through engaging and purposeful learning opportunities. Attuning skills in reading fiction and writing to entertain, children will produce a number of incidental written pieces of work, culminating in their own stories at the end of the unit.
