Detailed English plan – Year 3 – The Bear and The Piano
This detailed English plan will support teachers in Year 3 to deliver a thoughtful and engaging unit, based upon the story, The Bear and The Piano by David Litchfield. The plan weaves together the statements from the reading (comprehension), spoken language and writing (composition, VGP and spelling) components of the 2014 curriculum, showing how these aspects of learning can be addressed through an enjoyable and sequenced learning journey. Children will produce a range of written outcomes over the 2-week unit, culminating in a diary entry based upon the story.
