The Lower Key Stage 2 Diagnostic Maths Assessment: End of Year Transition Tool supports with assessment of learning at the end of the academic year to inform transition and autumn term planning as children move to the next year group.

The papers cover the full National Curriculum content for each year group to support teacher assessment judgements and to inform planning for the next academic year.

‘So what now? I know the gaps, but how and when do I address them?’

The multiple-choice questions have been specifically designed to identify where pupils are making common errors or have specific misconceptions. This will enable teachers to plan for pre-teaching and / or rehearsal by revisiting previously taught content.

Each set of assessment materials for Year 3 and Year 4 in single or mixed age classes contains the following:

  • Paper 1 – Arithmetic
  • Paper 2 – Reasoning
  • Digital markbook with filters and reports to enable forensic gap analysis
  • Planning and transition guide to precisely inform planning and teaching for the autumn term for the whole class, groups and individuals
