Early Years curriculum adjustment

The Back on Track: Early Years curriculum adjustment package supports headteachers, EYFS leaders and teachers in Nursery and Reception to plan for effective delivery of a bespoke, child-centred curriculum in light of the varying degrees of disruption to children’s schooling during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It ensures that leaders and teachers are able to provide the optimal transition that quickly builds warm, positive relationships and an environment that enables children to feel secure, confident and happy so that they can get back on track.

The package includes training and resources with an option for additional consultancy and resources.

Training and resources

Three pre-recorded training modules are included in the package. 

The training modules will help identify gaps in learning and development early on so they can robustly inform both longer and shorter term teaching priorities with an emphasis on the Prime areas and the characteristics of effective learning.

They will also apply principles that will support the identification of key skills, knowledge and understanding that need to be retaught and consolidated within Nursery and Reception curriculum provision and planning.

Each module is targeted at a different audience:
